The journey begins

Om OS is an operating system compiled according to my practical needs. One of the advantages of the linux system is the incredible versatility of its code, which allows the operating system to be modified and compiled to suit the project. This is why the Internet is full of ‘flavours’ of linux, and it is rightly one of the goals of open source. Creating project-tailored code is much more effective than having to adapt a project to the proprietary code provided by companies mainly focused on generating financial profit.

The heart of om OS is kali linux, a debian distribution developed for white hacking. I chose debian for its compatibility and stability. I chose kali for its efficiency and lightness. kali linux is a shy, silent and versatile operating system, where most of debian’s functions have been disabled in order to be extremely silent on the internet and not interfere with the programmes in the background, also known as daemons.
